I’m back from CLAD&CLOTH to bring you a great home decor idea! I found the idea on Pinterest and just had to try it! This is tutorial will show you how to make your very own DIY alphabet pillow! This pin totally rocks and was a complete success! Here’s how to do it.
This is an easy project to spruce up any room or couch. I put mine on my couch but I think these would look good in a bookshelf or even on the wall.
Here’s what you’ll need to make these pillows:
1. Fabric
2. Paper (to make your letter pattern)
3. Fabric Scissors
4. Pillow stuffing
5. Sewing Machine
I got my fabric for this project from Joann’s. I fell in love with this floral print the moment I saw it!
To make my “W” pattern I used some printer paper and made a bubble letter “W”. I pinned the fabric to the pattern I made and cut the fabric. I used two different fabrics for the front and back but you can use the same fabric for both sides.
To sew the fabric you will want to sew right sides together. When making a “W” I left the two tops open so that I could stuff the pillow. With any letter that you make you will want to leave an opening big enough to fit the stuffing into and then you can sew it up later.
After sewing the fabric and leaving an opening I flipped the pillow right side out. The next step is to stuff your pillow. After stuffing your pillow you will need to sew up the ends. To make sure that you avoid fraying you’ll need to tuck in the ends and sew on the outside along the end.
You now know how to make your very own DIY alphabet pillow!
